3 Easy DIY Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

Eyin temi,

Welcome to the weekend!!! Yay! Valentine’s Day is 4 days away. If you’ve been cracking your head about what gift to give the love of your life, I’m here to help. These gift ideas are simple and inexpensive DIYs. You’re going to love creating them and he’s going to love them.

1. DIY Man Bouquet
DIY Man Bouquet

I absolutely love this one. It’s in the shape of a bouquet of flowers. The twist is instead of flowers,  add items of your choosing. You can pick out his favourite things and put on the bouquet.
Let me show you how it’s done in steps

Things I used
1. Glue
2. Brown paper
3. Styrofoam. I got this from the packaging that came with the TV
4. Barbecue skewers to act as stems
5. Gift items. Chocolate, alcohol, biscuits, condoms, chewing gum, etc
6. A container. I recycled a Pringles container. You can use a beer mug or a jar.
7. Wrapping paper to beautify the container

Step 1.

I wrapped my Pringles container with wrapping paper. If you decide to use a beer mug or a jar, you don’t have to wrap it with wrapping paper. So you’ll skip this step.

Step 2.

I glued two barbecue skewers together to help carry the weight of the bottles of alcohol.

Step 3.

I glued my gift items on the sticks. And left them to dry. I did this overnight.

Step 4.

I took my wrapped container and stuffed it with brown paper and Styrofoam.

Step 5.

Then I stick my gift items in the container. Ensure you evenly distribute the weight of everything so that it doesn’t topple and fall

Viola!!! You have a bouquet of his favourite things as a gift.

2. DIY Bookmark

Is he a geek? Loves to read books? Then this next gift item will please him. It has a personal touch to it
Things I used

1. Vertical picture of me. You can make this a personal picture of you guys, one that you both love.
2. Clear film to laminate the picture
3. Laminator
4. One hole punch
5. Rope.
6.     Scissor

I got the clear film at a stationary store for 20naira. Since i don’t have the laminator at home, I did it at a business center.

Once I had the picture laminated, I cut the image to the size I want, punched the top and placed the rope and that’s a beautiful bookmark.

If you aren’t shy, make it a sexy picture of you *winks*

3. DIY 52 reasons I love you

This gift is so personal and will surely make his heart swell with love. I didn’t make this one so the pictures here aren’t mine but it’s so easy to make and carries personal messages that’ll put a smile on your faces

Things you’ll need
1. A deck of cards
2. Binder rings
3. Small pieces of paper. Cut to the size of the card or even smaller
4. Glue
5. Scissor
6. a note where you’ve written the 52 reasons why you love your boo
7. Fancy pen or colourful pen
8. Perforator

First glue the small pieces of paper on the inside of the cards
Then use the fancy pen to write each of your 52 reasons on the paper.
Use the Perforator or one hole punch to make 2 holes by the side of the card and then place the bind rings  (if you don’t have binder ring, use copper wire)
You can add embellishments to beautify it
You can watch this video to see how it’s been done.
