Beauty Review: SAGE & SKIN SPA

Eyin temi,

Hope you guys had a wonderful Easter celebration because I sure did.

I live in Ibadan but travelled to Lagos for the Easter holiday so Good Friday was a good day to be good to myself (so much good in one sentence, lol). I pampered myself to a beauty session at a spa. It was my third time in a spa (the 1st time was for a massage, 2nd time was 'follow follow' but I got a pedicure while waiting for my friend). In this post, I'll share my beauty experience with you and tell you about the spa I went to.

I visited the SAGE & SKIN SPA located at Yaba, Lagos. I called to book an appointment by phone a week in advance because of the holiday (I didn't want to hear 'Sorry ma, we're fully booked for the holiday'). I booked for a facial treatment and waxing and also discussed about writing a review of their service on my blog. They were very glad I wanted to write about them.

Sage & Skin Spa is currently running a 30% discount from now till 30th April, 2017

So I left for Lagos on Good Friday and went straight to the spa. It is really easy to locate in Yaba. Trust me, you won't get lost. I took a bike from Yaba to Onike for 200naira.

The spa is so beautiful and very clean. I was allowed to take pictures of the place before my consultation. The beautician (Yemi) was all smiles and even helped with holding my camera.

After taking the pictures, we sat down and began. She asked me questions like 'when was your last facial?' 'any known skin allergies?' etc. The answer to the first question was 'sometime last year, my sister gave me a facial at home' and to the second question I answered 'I don't know'. Then she gave me a coverall, told me to lie down and relax.

We started with the facial treatment. I got the full facial treatment and I love, love it! She was so thorough but also so gentle. She also answered my questions (in between telling me to relax and not stress my facial muscles) and I can ask questions like a Mindy in Animaniacs, chai! She would smile, answer my questions and tell me to relax and not stress my facial muscles. I just wanted to be sure that I was experiencing normal reactions. My least favourite part of the facial treatment was steaming. I kept trying to avoid the steam and she kept telling me to relax and let the steam do its work. When she was done, my face was as smooth as a new born baby's butt.

After the facial treatment, I was waxed. She waxed my underarm and 'honeypot'(You know what a honeypot is right, lemme not use all my mouth to talk. lol😁😁😁). No pictures for that as I was hollering in pain. Eyin temi, the beautician has the patience of Christ. I would shout out in pain and she would say to me 'sorry, I know it hurts. Please lie still. Don't stress yourself. Please relax. You're here to relax' The wax was warm on my skin and then she'll try to distract me before she pulled it off with a strip. I kept telling her to wait, asking myself 'who send me message?'. When she was done, I felt plucked like a chicken. lol.

Would I visit SAGE & SKIN SPA again?

Definitely! The customer relation and treatment was on point. I felt pampered (and well plucked). My questions were answered.

Would I get a wax again?

I don't know guys. Right now, I love how smooth and soft my underarm and 'honeypot' feel but I have zero tolerance for pain.

The spa also had some products on display; Exclusive Black Soap and Hair Treatment. Black soap is one of my current favorites so I got the small size of their black soap for 1k. She gave me instructions on how to use it to get the best results for my skin especially my face. Other services rendered at the spa are 1) Beauty Consultations 2) Pedicure and Manicure 3) Body Exfoliation 4) Body Polish 5) Hair Treatment 6) Piercing

If you live in Lagos or visit Lagos regularly, I recommend you visit them. They are affordable as I didn't break the bank to pamper myself and I got value for my money.

  13. The black soap is amazing , although it was too harsh for my skin and she had to give me another one which she mixed all over again.
